They required a rapid and comprehensive office conversion at their Dalston location. Recognising the importance of a productive and ergonomic workspace, they partnered with iQ Workspace to deliver a project that demanded both speed and precision.

The brief
- Nestlé’s initial requirements included the provision of robust lockers and storage solutions to optimise space utilisation and organisation.
- They also requested a zoning room divider system to create distinct functional areas within the office, enhancing privacy and collaboration.
- The brief was extended to include recycling separator units, reflecting Nestlé’s commitment to sustainability and responsible waste management.
- The scope of the project rapidly expanded to encompass the design and installation of workspace desking, ergonomic seating, fabric screens for acoustic and visual privacy, and planter boxes to introduce biophilic elements.
- Nestlé also stipulated that the entire project, from sourcing to installation, had to be completed within an exceptionally tight timeframe of just two weeks, driven by an impending visit from senior executives.

The challenges
- The primary challenge was the extremely compressed timeline, with only two weeks to source, produce, and deliver all specified items, compounded by the need for specific colour finishes.
- The project’s evolving requirements necessitated flexibility and adaptability, requiring iQ Workspace to adjust plans and manage changes quickly while maintaining a tight schedule.
- Ensuring the quality and consistency of all furniture and fittings, particularly given the rapid turnaround, was paramount to meeting Nestlé’s high standards.
- Coordination of the different suppliers and the installation team whilst respecting the short time window.
The results
Despite the formidable time constraints, iQ Workspace successfully secured order confirmations and managed to manufacture and deliver all required products within the 14-day deadline.
- The final delivery encompassed a comprehensive suite of office furniture, including matrix bench desks, ergonomic Veneto executive task chairs, modular lockers, storage planter units, recycling units, storage units, meeting tables, and fabric screens, all supplied by Elite Office Furniture and Formetiq.
- The converted office space achieved a harmonious balance of functionality and aesthetics, providing Nestlé employees with a comfortable and productive work environment.
- The office refurbishment was handed back to the factory and the factory was delighted with the results.
