The brief
- Billi requested an office layout that prioritised teamwork and efficient communication, which would be achieved through the use of bench desks.
- To foster collaboration, the design needed to incorporate multiple breakout areas, each tailored for informal meetings, relaxation, and creative brainstorming.
- Formal meeting spaces were also essential, requiring a dedicated boardroom-style meeting room equipped with a large table and a presentation screen, as well as a separate meeting room capable of seating twelve to fourteen people.
- The office needed comprehensive kitchen and canteen facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen breakout area with canteen tables and chairs, and a separate canteen area with dining tables and ample storage.
- Practical storage solutions were a requirement, including integrated office storage, personal storage pedestals, and room dividers with storage shelves.
- Finally, the overall aesthetic of the design was to be modern and vibrant, reflecting and reinforcing Billi UK’s brand identity.

The challenges
- Optimising space utilisation within the 7,500 sqft area to accommodate diverse functional requirements.
- Select high-quality furniture and fixtures that meet the client’s aesthetic and ergonomic needs while staying within budget.
- Ensuring seamless integration of technology, particularly in the meeting rooms.
- Creating a balance between open-plan collaborative spaces and private meeting areas.
- Coordinating the refurbishment to minimise the downtime of the client.

The project was completed, resulting in a modern and dynamic workspace that exceeded Billi UK's expectations.
